  Original Thar poetry and literature

The book is the unexpected child of several trips made by a film crew documenting the world of the people of Thar. It is the result of a love affair which still continues between a small group of city dwellers who have been mesmerized by the surreal magic of the desert, its silence, its compelling visual simplicity, and its ability to slow time almost to a standstill. The book is meant as a visual journey, with minimal text, and virtually no facts and figures. Although nothing can compare to the real experience, it is a small attempt to share the beauty and magic of the Thar Desert. Hopefully it will enchant the viewer enough, to pick up the backpack and make the journey herself.

A substantial part of the proceeds from the sale of these books will go towards digging new wells for the many villages of Thar and for the basic education of the children of these villages.
